Tony Marques
Lead Vocals and Acoustic Guitar
Birthdate: January 26th
With an upbringing in the Pacific Northwest (Washington State) and living in Las Vegas since his family relocated there when he was 13, Tony Marques (pronounced Mar-cus) may not be a son of the South, but anyone who has heard his rare soulful energy, rich tenor vocals, and distinctive country sound, can attest to him being suited to the genre perfectly. As a self-taught singer, songwriter, and acoustic guitar player, Tony’s ambition to become a country music artist and his overwhelming love for music and performing has allowed him to share his talents and entertain delighted crowds throughout his nearly thirty years in the music industry.
Performing professionally since the age of 22, Tony gained recognition and attention from both audiences and those in the music business from early on. While developing his own sense of country, he always has embraced the legends that have come before him. Through an extensive list of both classic and the most up-to-date country cover songs, as well as the introduction of his own original music from his 2015 album, “Highway to the Sun,” Tony showcases his vast repertoire and appeals to lovers of all country music.
Besides countless performances in major casinos and venues throughout Nevada over the years, Tony has a long list of corporate events (including Jack Daniels, SBC, Dr. Pepper/7-Up, REDKEN/Aussie Hair), other high-profile engagements (such as Atlantis Resort’s Annual 4th of July Celebration in the Bahamas, Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, MT, and the Northern California Bowling Association Annual Convention in Reno, NV), and private events around the country under his belt. Tony has also proudly performed several times in conjunction with such prominent events as the Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards, NASCAR, National Finals Rodeo (NFR), and the Pro Bull Riders Association (PBR).
Having obtained not only approval from fans but respect and esteem from his peers, Tony has had the honor of opening for many national recording artists over the years including Big & Rich, Charlie Daniels, Jason Aldean, Billy Currington, Mark Wills, Mark Chesnutt, Craig Morgan, Neal McCoy, Sawyer Brown, Chris Cagle, Darryl Worley, Asleep at the Wheel, Phil Vassar, Keith Anderson, Ricky Skaggs, Gary Allan, and Diamond Rio, just to name a few. Tony and his bandmates also backed up Toby Keith numerous times when he stopped in unannounced at Toby’s own “Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill,” which was located inside of Harrah’s Las Vegas. Tony was given this incredible opportunity by being handpicked by the executives of Harrah’s and Toby himself to perform there nightly as the house band from August 2005 through the end of January 2009. Tony also performed several times at Toby Keith’s other “I Love This Bar and Grill” locations in Mesa, AZ, Denver, CO, and Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
From performing at this extensive array of venues and events, as well as currently having a five days/nights a week residency on the stages of the world-famous Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas since 2017, Tony has been capturing the hearts of country music lovers (and even many non-country music fans) from around the world with his dynamic talent and engaging stage presence, as well as his genuinely friendly and outgoing personality offstage. The appreciation he has for those who come to see him perform is very apparent in his graciousness and approachability, taking the time to always greet people with a hug and smile and getting to know both new and regular supporters, recognizing them for coming back time and time again, which so many do.
Despite his busy schedule, Tony is a strong believer in giving back to the community. Because of the love he has for his daughter and grandsons, he finds a great deal of joy and fulfillment in donating his time to children’s benefits like St. Jude’s Miracle Network and The Shade Tree Organization in North Las Vegas, which provides safe shelter to homeless and abused women and children in crisis. A star athlete in high school himself, Tony is a diehard hockey fan and has been a season ticket holder of the Vegas Golden Knights since day one. In his spare time, he also enjoys nature, traveling, and is a big animal lover.
It has been Tony’s determination and passion for country music that has led him to what he is now so well known for in Las Vegas and beyond. Having a loyal fanbase, many Las Vegas locals come out to enjoy his band’s music on a regular basis and supporters from around the country and world make it a point to stop and attend at least one of his performances each time they are in town, many even planning their trips around the band’s schedule.
Tony keeps closely connected with his many followers through all social media, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
Tony has reached many milestones in the music industry during his career, including being a member of the Country Music Association (CMA) and the Academy of Country Music (ACM), and he continues to strive upward by believing in his dreams, working hard, staying dedicated and focused, and being true to himself. Along with a little luck, many blessings, and the profound support of his family, Tony continues to enjoy much success and the admiration of many supporters while doing the thing he loves to do most.
